America has contributed four things to the world that are really unique: Coca-Cola, Mickey Mouse and Elvis Presley. Only one of them is human: Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll. The musical “Heartbreak Hotel” portrays the man - not the icon - Elvis Presley, the visions and doubts of his generation, the glamour as well as the down side of success. This stage production does not indulge in the celebrity hype which has developed around the “King” over the years, but shows Elvis Presley as someone you can understand, a person you can approach and “touch”. Amongst all the world famous songs, it is in particular “Heartbreak Hotel” which conveys a striking and impressive interpretation of the dawn of a new age.
Music Productions Werdenberg presents “Heartbreak Hotel”, directed by Kuno Bont, with Florian Heeb as musical director. Leading actor and singer is Nicholas Young, a 39-year-old artist from Berlin with roots in Suisse Romande.
